Hydronephrosis (marked) with distal ureteric calculus

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

A well circumscribed mass is seen in the left upper quadrant,. A calcific density is present on the left in the pelvis. 

Massive hydronephrosis of the left with numerous bilateral renal calculi. A single calculus is present distally in the left ureter with accompanying hydroureter. 

Cortical thinning of the left upper pole, but overall the renal cortex is well maintained.

These are the features of chronic obstruction secondary to distal ureteric obstruction by a calculus.
