Presentation

Chest pain, dyspnea and chronic cough of 2 months duration. The patient is non smoker

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

x-ray

CT scout film reveal bilateral symmetrical reticulonodular infiltration involving both lungs most pronounced in the mid and lower zones with silhouetting of cardiac borders.

Diffuse reticular infiltration of both lungs associated with honeycombing, subpleural cysts and areas of air trapping. Paratracheal, subcarinal and prevascular lymph nodes are noted. Pulmonary artery is borderline (29 mm). 

Case Discussion

The patient was free from other medical illness. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis was established following lung biopsy.
