Iliac arterial embolisation by a bullet

Presentation:

Male patient age 29 years wounded by a firearm aimed at thorax.

Patient Data:

Age: 29 years old
Gender: Male
Race: Hispanic/Latino
Modality: DSA (angiography)

Case Discussion:

Entry wound was found at the level of fourth left intercostal space, without an exit wound.  The patient subsequently presented with signs of ischemia in his right lower limb. 

Intraoperative angiography shows the head of the projectile embolizing the right iliac artery.
