Foot pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female

Diffuse edema throughout the bone marrow with marked surrounding soft tissue swelling, posterior subtalar joint fluid and subtle linear defect consistent with fracture (arrow). The fracture line is more easily detected on T1 (arrow).

Subtle line of sclerosis at the site of MRI abnormality. Note bone density seems reduced and DEXA was consistent with marked osteoporosis.
