Intramedullary spinal metastasis

Presentation:

54 year old woman with a history of breast cancer presenting with neck stiffness and tetraparesis.

Patient Data:

Age: 54 years
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian
Modality: MRI

Case Discussion:

MRI of the cervival spine showed a solitary, centrally located hypervascular lesion of the spinal cord at the C6 level with intramedullary edema, that extended 2 segments above and below.  The patient had been under chemotherapy for breast cancer with liver metastases.
