Small right-sided Bochdalek-type diaphragmatic hernia containing the kidney corresponds to the focal opacity seen on chest radiograph. There is no pneumonia or mass.

Case Discussion

This is a case of an intrathoracic kidney secondary to a Bochdalek-type diaphragmatic hernia. Though, it appears the patient may have had surgery in this region in the past (given the surgery staples anterior to the kidney), and this could potentially be a surgical diaphragmatic defect rather than a congenital one.
