Presentation

Acute globus, regurgitation and dysphonia. Laryngoscope demonstrated a right vocal cord palsy.

Patient Data

Age: 90
Gender: Male

Initial CT scan of the brain demonstrated no abnormality.

2 days after presentation

A wedge of restricted diffusion is demonstrated involving the lateral aspect of the right side of the medulla, which matches with a region of high T2 signal.  ADC has relatively normalized in keeping 2 - 3 days post infarct.
