Productive cough and dyspnea.

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Chest

x-ray

There is left lower lobe consolidation likely infective in etiology given the clinical details. The rest of the lungs are clear. No pleural effusions. Cardiomediastinal contours are within normal limits.

Case Discussion

There is left lower lobe consolidation with loss of the contour of the medial left hemidiaphragm. The lateral projection demonstrates lower lobe consolidation, with increased density projected over the lower thoracic spine vertebral bodies.
