Presentation

Fever and left flank pain with five weeks pregnancy

Patient Data

Age: 23 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Clinical gestational age: 5 weeks 1 day

Live intrauterine gestation, with a crown rump length of 33 mm, dating at 10 weeks gestation; cardiac activity have been observed. No perigestational hemorrhage seen. The cervix is long and closed. The ovaries are normal in appearance. No pelvic free fluid is identified.

Conclusion Live intrauterine gestation, dating at 10 weeks as per CRL. No ectopic gestational identified.

Case Discussion

This case shows a nice example of a live intrauterine early pregnancy and can show the discrepancy in early pregnancy scanning between the clinical age (5 weeks) and sonographic age (10 weeks).
