Liver abscess - ruptured

Presentation

Pain in upper abdomen and fever for 10 days.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

There is an avascular lesion in left lobe of liver causing a breach in the liver capsule. There is a collection between left hemidiaphragm and left lobe liver.

Mild left pleural effusion is present.

Findings of intra-peritoneal rupture of a left lobe liver abscess with a collection under the left hemidiaphragm.
