Presentation

Patient with a history of awkward jumping.

Patient Data

Gender: Male

Comminuted extra-articular calcaneal fracture is seen.

Bohler's angle is 17 degrees as a shown in the MIP lateral reconstruction.

Bohler's angle is the angle between two tangent lines drawn across the anterior and posterior borders of calcaneus in the lateral view. When Bohler's angle becomes less than 20 degrees it indicates calcaneal fracture.

Case Discussion

The findings are compatible with Lover's fracture which is an extra-articular calcaneal fracture.

It is called lover's fracture probabaly because it can occur when a lover tries to escape by jumping outside the bedroom's window! Like Romeo and Juliet.
