Axial MR image demonstrates a thin, hypointense line that originates at the medial wall of the knee joint consistent with a medial plica. This is associated with high signal within the cartilage of the medial facet of the patella in keeping with chondromalacia patella, a recognized association.
Case Discussion
Typical presentation of a medial patellar plica in a symptomatic patient, which is commonly associated with chondral defects of the medial patellar facet.
