An extra-axial mass, with a prominent dural tail and vivid contrast enhancement extends from the posterior planum sphenoidale over the tuberculum sella and into the pituitary fossa. The normal pituitary can be seen as separate from the mass. The diaphragma sella can be seen pushed inferiorly (best seen on coronal T2). These features are characteristic of a meningioma.
Case Discussion
The patient went on to have a resection which confirmed the diagnosis of meningioma on histology (transitional/mixed variant).
