Neuroglial cyst

Case contributed by: Dr Frank Gaillard
Modality: MRI

MRI demonstrates a cystic lesion in the left occipital lobe which potentially communicates with the adjacent occipital horn of the lateral ventricle. The cortex overlying it is intact, and there is no abnormal enhancement.

Case Discussion:

This case illustrates an incidental neuroglial cyst. If it actually communicates with the ventricular system then it may represent a porencephalic cyst (depending on your definition)  No change was demonstrated over numerous years of followup.
