Renal imaging performed to assess for functional impairment.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years old
Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian
Nuclear medicine

Radioisotope is taken up exclusively by the left kidney.

No uptake by the right kidney with 100% function from the left kidney.

Case Discussion

A DMSA scan of the kidneys allows for assessment of the kidneys, in particular the split function.
