Olecranon fracture

Presentation:

Fall onto elbow. Pain and swelling.

Patient Data:

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
Race: Asian

Elbow x-rays

Modality: X-ray

A fracture of the olecranon is present with extensive soft tissue swelling.  The remainder of the elbow joint is unremarkable.

Modality: X-ray

Two pins and wire transfix the fracture through the olecranon process in good position. Fracture healing is well advanced with interval callus formation present. No joint effusion is noted.
