Presentation

Fall directly onto the elbow during a football game.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is a displaced fracture through the olecranon with displacement of the fracture fragment.

Case Discussion

The commonest injury following direct trauma to the elbow is an olecranon fracture. Direct trauma to the elbow can also result in supracondylar fracture and radial head dislocation.
