Headache, nasal obstruction and offensive post nasal discharge after tooth extraction.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

A fistulous communication between the extracted right upper 1st molar tooth and the right maxillary cavity across the alveolar process.

Chronic pansinusitis sparing the sphenoids and left maxillary retention cyst.

Case Discussion

An oro-antral fistula is abnormal communication between the paranasal sinuses and the oral cavity. It usually follows tooth extraction, radiotherapy or paranasal wall osteomyelitis.
