Hypointense line traversing the distal acromion in keeping with an os acromiale with a fibrous synchondrosis. There is oedema of the os together with focal effusion of the subjacent subacromial bursa consistent with bursitis from impingement.

Case Discussion:

Os Acromiale with subacromial bursitis related to rotator cuff impingement.

MR images show hypointense line traversing the distal acromion in keeping with an os acromiale with a fibrous synchondrosis. There is oedema of the os together with focal effusion of the subjacent subacromial bursa consistent with bursitis from impingement.
