Known case of papillary thyroid cancer post-ablation therapy.

Gender: Male

I131 WB scan

Nuclear medicine

Negative I131 WB scan.

FDG PET/CT

ct

Hight FDG uptake (max SUV >7).

Soft tissue lesion is seen near the thyroidectomy bed, at the tracheo-oesophagal groove.

Case Discussion

I131 WB scan is negative though the patient has high Thyroglobulin (TG) level (2000 ng/mL) suggestive of recurrence or metastasis. The presence of soft tissue nodule at thyroidectomy bed favor recurrent papillary thyroid cancer.
