Malaise and productive cough.

Gender: Female
x-ray

Right middle and lower lobe consolidation is demonstrated. This is associated with right pleural effusion. This has developed from the prior x-ray .

Pleural effusions not uncommonly develop with pneumonias, and can progress to empyema.
