Severe MVA trauma.

Age: 19
Gender: Male

Multiple coalescent foci of parenchymal opacification associated with surrounding ground-glass opacification involving the superior segment of the right inferior lobe, the middle lobe, the right superior lobe and the apical segment of the left upper lobe. There is also a mild pneumothorax surrounding the latter. 

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates diffuse areas of interstitial and/or alveolar lung injury without any frank laceration, in keeping with pulmonary contusion. The main radiological differential is done with aspiration pneumonia
