Presentation

Fever and right flank pain.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female

Gray scale sonography demonstrates a large cystic liver lesion with irregular thick septations and walls. Further evaluation with contrast-enhanced ultrasound demonstrates enhancement of the wall and septa during arterial which diminished during the later phases.

Clinical and sonographic features support the diagnosis of liver abscess.
