Pyonephrosis

Presentation:

Backache, fever.

Patient Data:

Age: 35 yrs
Gender: Female
Race: Indian/Pakistani
Modality: Ultrasound

There is a calculus ( 16 x 15 mm ) noted in right renal pelvis causing gross hydronephrosis and parenchymal thinning. Parenchymal thickness is less than 2 mm at places. Pelvi-calyceal system shows fluid - debris levels with few tiny calculi. No air foci are noted. Parenchymal flow is preserved. No thrombosis of renal vein or artery is noted.

No calculus, back pressure changes or mass lesion is seen on left side.

Nephrostomy - Frank pus.
