Posterolateral rectus femoris injury:

  • site: myofascial
  • cross-section: 10-50%
  • hyperintensity extent: 5.8 cm with more extensive perifascial fluid tracking
  • fiber disruption: 4.5 cm​

This is a myofascial (peripheral) rectus femoris injury with a British athletics muscle injury classification of 2a.
