Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female

Left nephrectomy.

Bulky enhancing left para-aortic lymphadenopathy, with central necrosis.

Small nodules on both limbs of the left adrenal gland, highly suggestive of adrenal metastases.

Case Discussion

Left nephrectomy, with renal cell carcinoma recurrence in the form of left para-aortic nodal metastases.

Notice how the nodal metastases mimic the typical enhancement characteristics of primary renal cell carcinoma, with peripheral enhancement and central necrosis.
