Reflux of contrast material into the seminal vesicles

Case contributed by Bruno Di Muzio
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Previous history of recent robot-aided prostatectomy.

Patient Data

Age: 65-year-old
Gender: Male

Retrograde Cystogram

Fluoroscopy

Contrast filling the bilateral relatively symmetric structures at the base of the bladder. These are consistent with reflux into the seminal vesicles, confirmed on the CT performed immediately following the cystogram. No contrast extravasation was seen to suggest a leak. No evidence of ureteric reflux bilaterally. The bladder was subsequently emptied with the extravesical contrast remaining unchanged.

CT Pelvis (selected images)

ct

Urografin within the seminal vesicles.
