Renal cell carcinoma: T2 stage

Large solid cystic mass in the right kidney involving the upper and midpoles, measuring greater than 7cm.
No invasion or extension beyond Gerota's fascia. No renal vein involvement.
Small renal hilar lymph node.
Case Discussion
Renal cell carcinoma, when presenting symptomatically, can be very large at the time of diagnosis.
It is typically a heterogenous solid mass, but can have varying degrees of cystic change within the tumor mass.
Those larger than 7cm, but not involving Gerota's fasia are given assigned a T2 stage in the TMN classification.
