Rheumatoid arthritis - shoulder joint

Case contributed by: Dr Ajay C Desai
Modality: MRI

Case Discussion:

- well punched-out juxta-articular erosions; particularly along the capsulo-ligamentous attachments.

- marked synovial / capsular hypertrophy  rather than joint effusion.

- non-existent to insignificant bone and soft-tissue edema.

- enlarged axillary lymphnodes are an incidental finding.
