Saccular cerebral aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage

Presentation

The patient is a 50 year old female who came with severe headache.

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Female

Extensive subarachnoid blood is demonstrated not only around the circle of Willis but also extending up into right Sylvian fissure and over the convexities. In addition blood has filled the pre-pontine and cerebellopontine cisterns.

CT angiography :

  • Right M1 segment - saccular aneurysm
  • Left M1 segment -saccular aneurysm

Case Discussion

An aneurysm is a focal abnormal dilatation of a blood vessel. Cerebral artery aneurysms a true aneurysms mostly located near the skull base.In this case Brain angiography was done and bilateral MCA aneurysm is seen.
