Presentation

History of fall from height. Trauma to elbow. Referred for elbow radiograph and to check triceps tendon.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

An avulsed bone fragment in the posterior elbow with a corresponding defect in the ulnar olecranon process. No dislocation/ bone lesion.

ultrasound

Bony avulsion of triceps from olecranon process of the ulna with 11 mm retraction.

x-ray

The avulsed fracture fragment was fixed using tension band wiring.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with the bony avulsion of the triceps from the ulnar olecranon process which was treated with tension band wiring.
