Trochanteric bursitis

Presentation:

Swelling an pain of the left hip after a fall 3 weeks ago.

Patient Data:

Age: 45
Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian
Modality: MRI

Thickened wall and fluid collection in the left trochanteric (subgluteal) bursa.

Case Discussion:

Most probably a case of posttraumatic bursitis (there is also a small haematoma in the gluteus medius muscle).
