Tubercular focal cerebritis

Presentation:

history of fever since last 15 days, and headache since last 3 months.

Patient Data:

Age: 76
Gender: Female
Race: Indian/Pakistani
Modality: MRI

Multiple small discrete ring enhancing lesions are seen in brain parenchyma suggesting tuberculomas, with shaggy enhancement in basal cistern -possibly exudates.

A focal area of gyral swelling and enhancement, with marked leptomeningeal enhancement, and vasogenic edema is seen in right parietal lobe, suggesting focal tubercular cerebritis.

Modality: X-ray

Chest X-Ray showed nodular infiltrates in left apex, suggesting tubercular focus.

Case Discussion:

This case show multiple manifestations of CNS tuberculosis, specifically tuberculomas and focal tubercular cerebritis.
