Spondylodiscitis with large psoas abscess

Presentation

Backache, weakness in both legs and difficulty in walking.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Mild weding with erosions of L1 and L2 vertebral bodies. Abnormal marrow signal lesion involving the D11 to L4 vertebral bodies. 

Anterior epidural abscess / granulation tissue at D12 vertebra to L2-L3 disc level.

Fairly large left psoas muscle abscess.

Prevertebral and paravertebral abscesses. 

Case Discussion

These findings represents changes of spondylodiscitis with large left psoas abscess with epidural , prevertebral and bilateral paravertebral abscess / granulation tissue.
