Transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis

Case contributed by Thomas Muller
Diagnosis certain

Right retrograde pyelogram

Fluoroscopy

Right pyelogram revealed a large filling defect in the upper moiety extending to renal pelvis.

Case Discussion

This appearance is suggestive for transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) and would require nephro-ureterectomy to treat. In this case, diagnostic ureterorenoscopy was performed with biopsy. Biopsy confirmed transitional cell carcinoma of the right renal pelvis. Nephro-ureterectomy was performed.
