Presentation

Acute severe lower abdominal and pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Huge posterior uterine wall fibroid occupying the pelvis and most of the abdominal cavity. The uterus is seen twisted at the cervical and upper vaginal region with congested uterine vessels and fluid filled uterine cavity.

Case Discussion

Uterine torsion is very rare acute condition that is usually associated with increased uterine size or mass which can occur with pregnancy or pathologically with large uterine masses.
