Description

One day neuroradiology update course featuring neuroradiologist A.Prof Frank Gaillard and neurointerventional radiologist Prof Peter Mitchell focusing on both core knowledge reivew and recent developments, techniques and controversies in neuroradiology. Ideal for radiologists and radiology trainees, as well as other health professionals interested in neuroimaging. 

Course Topics

Topics are designed to complement last year's Adult Brain MRI Review Course and include:

  • Approach to brain tumors
  • What's changed in WHO classification 2016
  • Brain tumor treatment response, pseudoprogression, pseudoresponse
  • Stroke imaging update
  • Aneurysm and arteriovenous malformation update
  • Spinal cord pathology
  • Intracranial hypertension and craniospinal hypotension
  • Case review session

The course will assume at least a basic knowledge of neuroradiology and is most suited to: 

  • Radiologists - consultant, trainee
  • Neurologists - consultant, trainee
  • Neurosurgeons - consultant, trainee
  • Junior doctors - with an interest in neuroradiology
  • MRI technologists - with an interest in neuroradiology

Video Access

The whole course will be recorded so you can review any sections again afterwards for free. In addition, all attendees will receive bonus access to the extra-axial masses and intra-axial masses videos from last year's Adult Brain MRI Review Course (over 1 hour of bonus video). Video access is for 12 months from 1 October 2016 to 1 October 2017. 

CPD Certification

All attendees receive a certificate of course attendance.

Presenters

Associate Professor Frank Gaillard (@frankgaillard) is a neuroradiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After obtaining his FRANZCR in 2009, Frank completed two years of fellowship training in neuroradiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. In addition to his work as a clinical neuroradiologist, he has research interests in brain tumor imaging, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative disease and computer aided diagnosis. He is renowned globally as the founder and editor in chief of Radiopaedia.org.

Professor Peter Mitchell (@mitchep07) is a neurointerventional radiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he is director of neurointervention services. Peter is a world leader in endovascular management of stroke and was an investigator and co-author of the EXTEND-IA trial published in NEJM in March 2015.
