Emphysematous pancreatitis perforating into stomach

Discussion:

The initial ultrasound study revealed an indistinct pancreatic outline with stomach gas obscuring the pancreas. CT showed moderate gas in entire pancreas with evidence of gas in the lesser sac, stomach wall, retroperitoneum, and large bowel wall.

His earlier USG, done 10 days earlier, showed a 6x8 cm pseudocyst.

The pseudocyst now has totally disappeared, probably became infected, with spontaneously rupture into the stomach.
