Global asymmetry in breast tissue is a form of asymmetrical breast density where where the entire breast is either larger, denser or has increased trabecular markings than the opposite opposite breast.
This can occur from a number of causes which include:
- normal variation
- surgery +/- breast reduction to the opposite breast
- pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH)
