A submassive pulmonary embolism is a situation where there is high volume burden of acute pulmonary emboli who. Though patients have features of right ventricular dysfunction (confirmed by echocardiography) they are haemodynamically stable (i.e. do not meet haemodtynamichaemodynamic criteria for massive pulmonary embolism) but with features or right ventricular (RV) dysfunction or hypokinesis confirmed by echocardiography.
