Measurement
Medial cuneiform-fifth metatarsal height is measured on the lateral weight-bearing foot radiographs. It is measured by the distance between two parallel lines drawn from the most inferior part of the medial cuneiform and the most inferior part of the base of the 5th metatarsal 1-4.
Interpretation
- normal values 1
- 17 mm on weight-bearing lateral foot radiographs
- ≤6 mm is associated with pes planus 2
