Adding an image to an article

Adding images to an article is an important way of illustrating various imaging examples of that condition.

Add a case image "of the condition" to an article
  • click the best image from your case and pin (flag) it
  • click relevant article
  • press "edit article"
  • press "add image"
  • click pinned images from popped up image management console
  • press top left green cross
  • close console
  • identify added image on right hand column of article
  • click black caption bar
  • "edit caption" pop up box will appear
  • label as Case 1, Case 2 or appropriate number from bottom option
  • if you wish to highlight a specific point you can write as Case 1: malrotated kidney (all lower case)
Writing format

["Case" or "Figure" with capital letter] space [number] [colon] space [description all in lower case], i.e.:

  • Case 1: malrotated kidney (correct)
  • Case 1 - malrotated kidney (incorrect)
  • Case1: Malrotated kidney (incorrect)
  • Case1:malrotated kidney (incorrect)
  • Case 1 : malrotated kidney (incorrect)
  • CASE 1: MALROTATED KIDNEY (incorrect)
Important points
  • ideally it should be one image per case (usually the best image) per article unless you wish to highlight a specific point.
  • custom captioning is best done in the sequential order as Case 1, Case 2, Case 3, from left to right and then from top to bottom.
Adding non-radiographic images (e.g. pathology or histology slice or clinical photograph) to an article

This is similar to radiographic images but should be custom captioned as "Figure 1", "Figure 2" etc.

Adding a "differential image" to an article

This is similar to radiographic images but

  • press "add differential image" rather than "add image"
  • should be custom-captioned as the diagnosis of the condition, e.g. Extra-skeletal myeloma on the caption bar (here the first letter should be capitalised)
