Ahumada-Del Castillo syndrome

Ahumada-Del Castillo syndrome is a rare endocrine disorder affecting adult females, which is characterised by galactorrhoea-amenorrhoea not associated with pregnancy with oestrogen deficiency and decreased urinary gonadotropin levels.

Clinical presentation

  • lactation not associated with breastfeeding or postpartum status

  • anovulation and amenorrhoea

  • infertility

The underlying pathophysiology is disruption of the hypothalamus-pituitary axis due to the following causes:
