Ankle tear drop sign
Ankle tear drop sign is one of the radiological signs of an ankle joint effusion. It represents the presence of fluid in the inferior part of anterior compartment of ankle.
This sign is appreciated on a lateral radiograph of ankle which is seen as a tear drop shaped opacity that extends anteriorly from tibio-talar joint and continued along neck of talus.
