The score can range from 0 to 25 points and the following parameters are used in its calculation:

70-79 = 4 points
>80 = 6 points

>80 = 0 points
50-80 = 1 point
30-49 = 2 points
<30 = 3 points

number of exacerbations in past year
0-2 = 0 points
≥3 = 2 points

number of hospital admissions with severe exacerbation in past two years
0 = 0 points
≥1 = 5 points

MRC dyspnea score
1-3 = 0 points
4 = 2 points
5 = 3 points

colonization with Pseudomonas aeruginosa
no = 0 points

colonization with other organisms

number of lobes involved radiologically
<3 = 0 points
≥3 or cystic bronchiectasis = 1 point
Interpretation
mild bronchiectasis: 0-4 points
moderate bronchiectasis: 5-8 points
severe bronchiectasis: >8 points
