Crural arteries

Crural arteries are the arteries of the leg, distal to the popliteal artery.

Typically used in the context of peripheral arterial disease, the term is used to describe distal lesions, as distinct from those in the aortoiliac or femoropopliteal segments of the arterial tree. Crural arteries are common sites of endovascular intervention to treat peripheral arterial disease 2.
