Cubital tunnel

The cubital tunnel is a space through which the ulnar nerve passes posterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus

Gross anatomy

Boundaries
  • roof

    • cubital tunnel retinaculum (also known as the Osborne ligament/band/retinaculum), extends from the olecranon to the medial epicondyle

    • anconeus epitrochlearis (when present)

  • laterally: olecranon process

  • medially: medial epicondyle

  • floor: elbow joint capsule, posterior band of medial collateral ligament of the elbow joint
