Ectopic ovaries are a rare ovarian abnormality. Supernumerary ovaries contain normal ovarian tissue in an ectopic location with a ligamentous attachment 1.
A few of the etiological explanations of ectopic ovary include embryologic origin, post-inflammatory implantation of ovarian tissue and post-surgery.
Clinically ectopic ovaries are associated with bifid uterine tubes, bicornuate uterus, renal agenesis, and/or accessory adrenal glands 1-3.
