The eparterial bronchus is a synonymous term for the right superior lobar bronchus. Its name is derived from the bronchus being the only one originating superior to the level of the pulmonary artery. Conversely, all other bronchi can be referred to by their anatomical relationship to the pulmonary arteries as being hyparterial.

The term may be encountered in the classification of heterotaxy syndromes, and may be used to differentiate polysplenia and asplenia syndrome.
