FADIR test a.k.a. Flexion, Adduction, Internal Rotation test refers to a clinical examination test performed to assess for hip femoroacetabular impingement.
Description
Patient stays supine. The examined leg is passively flexed in knee and hip joints at 90 degrees. The doctor then adducts and internally rotates the hip. The other leg is straight during the examination.
Interpretation
The test is positive if during the maneuver, the patient develops anterior groin or anterolateral hip pain.
Positive test may indicate femoroacetabular impingement.
